Der Frust eines "Creative Directors"

Auf http://www.newtoyork.com/ sieht man ganz am Fuße der Seite folgende warme Begrüßung für Benutzer des Internet Explorers 6:

Hi, if you are coming to this site via Internet Explorer 6, you might not be getting the best experience possible. Honestly, I can't even begin to think about what your entire experience on the internet must be like? (...probably like riding a bike on the highway while cars blow by you on their way to Costco to get gallons of mayonnaise and 60-inch plasma TV's). How will you ever be able to use this website?????? You wont. You're an asshole and your browser is an asshole. So look, I'm going to be honest: I kind of hate you. BUT we c-a-n make this work. Here is what I am going to need you to do: fire up your Toshiba ShitBook© that weighs about 45 pounds, wipe the Cheeto dust off the screen, download Safari, delete Internet Explorer from your computer, punch yourself in the face, and get me a pulled pork sandwich.

Ich kann den Mann ja irgendwie verstehen und ich lache immer noch darüber, während ich das hier blogge. Nicht nur über seine Ausdrucksweise, auch über die technische Umsetzung, mit der er das seinen Besuchern in den RAM schmettert.

Keine User-Agent-Erkennung oder so, um die Ansage wenigstens gezielt nur den IE6-Usern zu präsentieren. Nein, einfach so in den Footer für jeden sichtbar. Dass er XHTML 1.0 strict deklariert und dabei kleine Fehlerchen wie z.B. beim target-Attribut hat, ist dabei nicht mal das schlimmste Problem. Vielleicht sollte er das Layout erst mal auf eine Browserfensterbreite von 1024px ohne horizontalen Scrollbalken optimieren (zumindest im von ihm empfohlenen Browser Safari), bevor er sein M... aufr....

Klingt für mich eher so, als ob sich der werte Herr Thompson über seine eigene Unfähigkeit ärgert. Ein komplizierter Browser ist noch lange kein Grund gleich so ausfallend zu werden...

Genau. Solche Kommentare gehören in den Quelltext (z.B. ins CSS- oder Javascript-File) ;-)

ps: @ alp: Dummerweise werden bei dir die Sternchen VOR dem BB-Code geparst - somit hat sichs auch gleich wieder mit dem Code-BBCode [ code ] [ /code ], weil ich damit mehrzeilige Kommentarzeichen nicht eintragen kann (oder anything else, that requires Sternderl). Beispiel:
