Ich nutze Breezy nun schon knapp einen Monat und konnte für mich in dieser Zeit keine großartigen Fehler mehr erkennen. Die Ãœbersetzungen werden von Tag zu Tag ein Stück beseer und sogar gft läuft mittlerweile wieder ohne Abstürze. Viel Spaß also auch Dir mit dem neuen Ubuntu.

Merci. Ich hatte beim Update nur ein paar leicht behebbare Probleme mit den locales und dem neuen X-Server. Aber nach einem dpkg-reconfigure bei beiden klappt's jetzt auch.

Jap, von dem Problem habe ich auch schon gelesen. Daher habe ich kein Update gemacht, sondern neu installiert. Aber Du hast es ja hinbekommen.

Und? Wie ist es denn nun? Ich bin derzeit schon auf Ubuntu-Abstinenz, da ich auf meine neue Grafikkarte warte und auf dem Laptop doch noch Windows läuft (Firma!). Ist die neue Gnome-Version ebenfalls enthalten?

Ich zögere noch mit einer Einschätzung. Ok, neues Gnome und ein paar neue GUIs, aber ich habe den Eindruck, als ob das Online-Update nicht genau das gleiche Ergebnis liefert, wie eine Neuinstallation. Das war bei der 5.04 auch so. Das Update von 4.10 auf 5.04 sah im Endeffekt anders aus als eine Neuinstallation von 5.04.
Warten wir's ab. Noch 3 mal schlafen ... ;-)
